Nouns are divided into five kinds
Proper Noun
A Proper Noun is the name of some particular person,place or thing. Proper means one's own hence a Proper Noun is a person's own name. Proper Noun always written with a capital letter at the beginning.In sometimes i is used as common nouns
eg; Asoka, Calcutta, Everest, Ganges.
Common Noun
A Common Noun is a name given in common to every person or thing of the same class or kind. it is shared by all.
eg; man,woman,girl,table,island,country, building,river,picture,house,etc.,
Collective Noun
A collective Noun is the name of a group of persons or things taken together a single hole
eg: crowd, army, team, family, assembly, committee,etc
An army - a collection of soldiers.
A coward - a collection of people.
Abstract Noun
An Abstract Noun is the name of a quality , state or action of a person or thing.
The names of Arts and sciences
(eg: Music, Physics, Grammar etc ) are also Abstract Nouns.
Example:
goodness, kindness, slavery, poverty, laughter, theft, childhood, etc.
Action : laughter, movement, judgement, etc
State : boyhood,youth,sleep,sickness,death,etc.
